Class Information:

Our P.E. sessions will continue to be on a Monday and Wednesday. Please ensure P.E. kits are always kept in school ready for these sessions. We will send them home at the end of each term for washing and for you to check that they have the right sized clothes and footwear in them. If your child wears earrings, please can they be removed or covered with tape on a Monday and Wednesday. Long hair also needs to be tied up. 

Homework:

The Little Wandle reading books will be given out on Wednesdays. Please ensure that they are returned by the Friday. Your child will also have a class reading for pleasure book that they can change on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. It is so important that you read with your child as much as possible; reading is the gateway for children that makes all other learning possible. Please hear them read as often as you can and record this in their reading record books, thank you. (Little Wandle link below)

Your child will also be receiving 5 spellings a week to practise at home.  These will be commonly used words taken from the Year 1 and 2 Statutory Spelling List.  Please can you practise these with your child when they come home.  In the links below, you will find a link to the Year 2 spelling list and also different methods that can make practising spelling fun.

Your child will also have a Times Tables Rock Stars account. They will all be given a password and details of how to access it. Please encourage your child to use this as and when they can, as it will really help them to become more confident in knowing their multiplication tables, which in turn will help them to become more confident mathematicians.
