Class 3
Welcome to Class 3!
This is the happy home of our Year 3 children.
The class teacher is Miss Tordoff and our Teaching Assistants are Miss English and Ms Sagna.
We have a busy/exciting term ahead of us.
Our term topic is
CHANGING TIMES- TIME FOR CHANGE
In History we will be exploring the Big Question 'Would you have preferred to live in the Stone Age, Bronze Age or Iron Age?".
We will be looking closely at housing and how this changed from Stone Age to Iron Age, trading and examining historical artefacts to determine what life was like during these times.
We will then be learning about rainforests in Geography and why they are important to us. This will involve completing a case study on the Amazon Rainforest, during which we will discuss key vocabulary such as indigenous, biome and habitat.
Our current book for English is 'The Pied Piper of Hamlin' by Michael Morpurgo.
Here are a list of the other books we will be reading this term:
The First Drawing by Mordecai Gerstein
Our Tower by Joseph Coehlo
The Last Garden by Rachel Ip
The Tear Thief by Carol Ann Duffy
PE this term will be on a Tuesday and Friday, this does occasionally change based on hall usage, so please if possible have your PE kit in school Monday to Friday.
Homework will be given out on a Friday and should be given back by Wednesday. Spellings will be practiced daily, with the test on Friday. Please support your child's learning by listening to them read and recording this in their reading record books. Encourage your child to practice their times tables on TTRS!
For more details on the learning that will take place this term, please look at the curriculum driver.
